It’s officially that time of the year to get in the holiday spirit, and what better way to do that than watch some good classic holiday movies? Luckily if you can’t find most of them on streaming platforms such as Netflix and Hulu, you can tune in to Freeform’s 25 Days of Christmas.
Freeform, formerly known as ABC Family, has been screening holiday movies since 1996 and the station continues to be a staple of Christmas.
This year Freeform is playing a wide array of films from the holiday classics to new original films.
Their lineup of holiday classics this year includes our favorite bright-nosed reindeer, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” young Macauly Culkin beating off home invaders in “Home Alone,” the dark yet cheerful “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas,” and Jim Carrey playing the Christmas-hating Grinch in “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
Freeform is also incorporating their own original flicks and shows alongside the classic films this year. Their new reality competition show “Wrap Battle” will make its debut in which nine contestants compete to create eye-popping gift-wrapping creations to win a grand prize of $50,000.
Also making a Freeform holiday debut are two new original films; “Ghosting: The Spirit of Christmas” will premiere on Dec. 4, starring “The Bold Type” actress Aisha Dee. The film is centered around Jess (Dee) who goes on a first date with a charming guy but ends up accidentally “ghosting” him after she tragically dies in a car accident. Reappearing as a ghost, Dee must find a way to apologize to her date with the help of her best friend who is the only person that can see her.
“Same Time, Next Christmas” is another Freeform original film that’ll premiere on Dec. 11 starring Lea Michele from “Glee.” This film is about Michele rekindling with her childhood sweetheart after the pair reunite at the same Hawaiian resort where they met many years prior.
Whether you plan on watching a classic holiday film like “Frosty the Snowman” or want to catch a glimpse at how to wrap gifts perfectly with “Wrap Battle,” Freeform has got your back with their 25 Days of Christmas!
